“The location is genuinely excellent. you can walk to just about everything in town, and despite being right in the heart of it, the apartment sits on a quieter side street so it stayed peaceful at night. The bed was comfortable, the hot water and A/C both worked well, and the basics were all covered. My honest hesitation is cleanliness. There were a lot of flies and gnats throughout the house, seemingly coming up through the bathroom drains, and the bathroom felt dirty from the moment we arrived. The place overall never felt quite clean to me, and that's something I care about. One practical note: if you're over 6 feet tall, you'll be ducking through doorways and crouching under a low showerhead. That's part of the character of an older home, so I don't hold it against the place. I'd also gently flag that the listing photos read as more polished and luxurious than the space actually feels in person. Worth setting expectations”
