Extension troubleshooting

If the extension isn't behaving, the answer is almost always in the popup or the Chrome extensions page. Walk through these in order.

Install problems

"Add to Chrome is greyed out / blocked"

If your laptop is managed by an employer or school, IT policy may restrict which extensions can install. Open chrome://policy/ and look for ExtensionInstallBlocklist. Ask IT to allowlist Bukavilla Channel Sync (Chrome Web Store ID magdodmabadkfdnnhibdnfkoojioojih).

"I installed the old zip version manually"

If you previously side-loaded the extension from a zip, remove it first (chrome://extensions → Bukavilla tile → Remove), then install from the Chrome Web Store. The store version updates itself automatically; the zip version doesn't. Your pairing is per-browser, so re-pair after switching.

Pairing problems

"Pairing key invalid"

  • The key shown by the dashboard is single-use. If you've already paired once with that key, generate a new one.
  • Keys are case-sensitive. A is not the same as a.
  • Make sure you copied the full 6 characters — no extra spaces.
  • If you generated multiple keys without using them, only the most recent one works. Older ones are auto-invalidated.

"Could not reach Bukavilla"

Network blip or your browser is blocking bukavilla.com. Check you can open bukavilla.com directly in a new tab. If yes, retry the pairing — sometimes a single retry clears a transient connection issue.

Sync problems

"You appear to be signed out of Airbnb"

The extension reads your Airbnb session cookies. If you logged out of airbnb.com — even from a different tab — the cookies are gone and the sync can't run.

Fix: open airbnb.com, sign in, then re-open the extension popup and click Sync now.

"No prices pulled" but you have prices set on Airbnb

  • Confirm you flagged the villa for sync. On Bukavilla: Dashboard → villa → Pricing → Auto-sync from Airbnb — the toggle must be on.
  • Make sure the Bukavilla villa has an Airbnb URL set. The extension uses that URL to know which Airbnb calendar to read.
  • Some Airbnb listings have empty pricing far in the future. The extension only pulls dates that have prices set. Two months from now might be empty by design.

"Reviews aren't updating"

The reviews pull runs automatically when you open the popup, at most once a day. To force it, click Pull Airbnb reviews in the popup's reviews card. Two things it needs: the villa's Airbnb URL set on Bukavilla, and you signed into Airbnb in this browser.

If the reviews card shows an error starting with "shape_mismatch", Airbnb changed their page format — email us the exact message and we'll ship a fix; nothing is half-imported when this happens.

"Push prices to Booking.com fails with a session or credentials error"

The price push borrows the Booking.com extranet session from your browser. It needs two things: you signed into admin.booking.com, and the villa's extranet calendar page opened at least once in that session so the extension picks up fresh credentials. Open the calendar, then re-run the push from the popup.

"Push prices says 'no rate plan on file'"

Each villa needs a one-time setup that tells the extension which Booking.com rate plan to write. Email hello@bukavilla.com with the villa name — it's a five-minute fix on our side, and pushes work from then on.

"Booking.com block didn't fire after a Bukavilla booking confirmed"

The auto-block runs the next time you open the extension popup. If you've been away from your laptop for two days and a booking arrived, the block is queued — open the popup to drain it.

You can verify queued work at /dashboard/integrations/jobs — pending jobs show with a status badge.

"Push to VRBO says 'no creds — open your VRBO calendar'"

The VRBO push borrows the VRBO session from your browser, and it needs identifiers that only appear on your own owner calendar page. Two things: you signed into vrbo.com, and the villa's owner calendar page opened at least once in that session (the page whose address looks like vrbo.com/p/calendar/321.…). Open that calendar, wait a couple of seconds for it to load, then re-run the push from the popup. Make sure the VRBO listing URL is set on the Bukavilla villa so we know which property to match.

"Push to VRBO says reload your VRBO calendar / bot-challenge"

VRBO sits behind a bot-defense layer (Akamai) that occasionally challenges requests it doesn't recognise. When that happens the push stops and asks you to reload. Open your VRBO owner calendar, let it fully load — that re-arms the trusted session — then run the push again. If it keeps happening, sign out of VRBO and back in.

VRBO blocks are push-only: if a Bukavilla booking cancels, remove the VRBO block by hand from your VRBO calendar. The extension does not yet remove VRBO blocks automatically.

"Sync is stuck"

The extension's popup shows the queue. If a job has been in progress for more than 5 minutes, close the popup, then re-open it. The service worker restarts and re-tries.

If a job stays stuck after a restart, cancel it from the jobs page (/dashboard/integrations/jobs) and try again.

Connection problems

"Paired but villa list is empty"

Either no villas have Auto-sync from Airbnb turned on, or none of your Bukavilla villas have an Airbnb URL set. Add the URL on Dashboard → villa → Edit → External channels.

"I changed my password on Bukavilla and now the extension doesn't work"

Pairing keys are tied to your account at issue time. Generate a new key from the dashboard and re-pair.

Still stuck?
