Check-in and check-out
Before arrival
The host sends check-in instructions through the messaging thread on your booking. This usually includes:
- Exact address and directions
- Check-in time window
- How to access the property (key, lockbox, in-person handoff)
- Wi-Fi password and house notes
- Emergency contact
Most hosts send these a few days before arrival. If you haven't received instructions 48 hours before check-in, message the host directly through the booking thread.
Check-in time
Each villa sets its own check-in window — usually shown in the listing details. If you need to arrive early or late, message the host in advance to confirm. Last-minute requests aren't always possible because of cleaning turnover between guests.
Mobile check-in workflow
If you're using Bukavilla on mobile, your booking page has a check-in section where you can confirm your arrival and document any pre-existing issues with photos. This is optional but recommended — it creates a record that protects both you and the host.
This workflow is mobile-only. If you're on desktop, just message the host on arrival to confirm everything is good.
Check-out
Check-out time is set per villa, usually 11am or noon. Follow any instructions the host has given you — for example, where to leave keys, whether to start a load of laundry, how to lock up.
After check-out, you can leave a review on the booking page. Reviews are public on the villa's listing.
Address and access
The exact street address is shared by the host once your booking is confirmed — typically in the messaging thread, sometimes in a separate email. If you don't have the address by 24 hours before arrival, message the host.
Access instructions (lockbox code, gate code, key handoff details) come the same way. Save them somewhere you can reach offline in case you don't have signal at the property.
If something is wrong on arrival
If the property doesn't match the listing, has cleanliness or safety issues, or is inaccessible:
- Document with photos
- Message the host immediately through the booking thread
- If the host doesn't respond within a few hours and the issue is significant, contact Bukavilla support
For non-urgent issues (a broken fixture, a missing item) the host will usually resolve it during your stay.
