Booking and payment

How booking works

Find a villa, pick your dates, and the listing shows your total upfront — including any discounts and the cleaning fee. If the villa requires a minimum number of nights, you'll see that on the calendar. Tap Book now to proceed to checkout.

At checkout you'll choose how to pay. After payment goes through, your booking either auto-confirms (for card and DOKU payments) or stays pending until the host confirms (for direct payment methods, where the host needs to verify they received your transfer). You'll get a confirmation email either way.

There are no deposits and no split payments. The full booking amount is charged at checkout.

Payment methods

Bukavilla supports a wide catalog of payment methods, picked by your host based on what's popular and convenient where they operate. Available options span:

  • Card processors — Stripe in most countries, DOKU in Indonesia, and others
  • Local payment methods — GoPay, OVO, PromptPay, UPI, PIX, SPEI, SEPA, Zelle, Venmo, M-Pesa, and many more depending on your market
  • International transfer services — Wise, PayPal, Revolut, bank transfer
  • Self-arranged direct payment — some hosts prefer to share their payment details through the booking message thread and arrange the transfer directly with you

Each host configures the subset that fits their guests. Some accept card only; others offer a mix; some prefer direct arrangement. You'll see what's available at checkout.

Currency

Bukavilla supports 26 currencies. At checkout, you'll see the price in your local currency where the payment processor supports it; otherwise the charge is in USD. Exchange rates are applied at the time of payment.

Discounts

Three kinds of discounts can apply to a booking, and they stack:

  • Promo codes — if the host has shared one, enter it at checkout
  • Length-of-stay discounts — automatic if the host has set them (e.g. 7+ nights at 10% off)
  • Multi-villa discounts (also called bundle or package discounts) — automatic if the host owns more than one villa and you book multiple

The discount label and amount appear on the checkout summary so you always see what you're paying.

What Bukavilla's role is

Bukavilla is a platform that connects guests with hosts. It doesn't hold your money, process payments, or guarantee transactions. Money goes directly from you to the host through whatever method you both pick. Bukavilla takes 0% commission on the booking — you pay the host's listed total and that's it.

Because Bukavilla isn't in the middle of the transaction, any payment dispute (a refund the host hasn't issued, a transfer that didn't arrive, a chargeback) is something you and the host need to resolve together. Bukavilla can help connect you with the host and address platform-related issues, but it can't intervene in the payment itself.
