Planning a multi-stop trip

If you're staying in Bali for a while and want to see more than one part of it, Trip Planner builds the itinerary for you. Tell it how long you have and how many places you want to see, and it picks the stops, the order, and a villa in each — routed so you spend your time there rather than in a car.

Bali only for now. The driving times and the character of each area are hand-checked, and that isn't something we're willing to guess at for a region we haven't verified.

How it works

Give it three things:

  • How long you're staying — the whole trip, in nights
  • How many places you want to stay in
  • What you're after — quiet, surf, jungle, beach, nightlife, and so on

It then chooses from twelve areas — Ubud, Canggu, Seminyak, Kuta, Uluwatu, Denpasar, Lovina, Amed, Kintamani, Nusa Penida, Tabanan and Gerokgak — and returns a route with dates, one villa per stop.

Why it suggests fewer stops than you asked for

Every stop costs you a moving day. Trip Planner won't put you anywhere for fewer than three nights, because two nights somewhere is a commute rather than a stay — you arrive, you unpack, you leave.

So a 10-night trip supports three stops, not five. If you ask for more than the nights allow, it tells you what it can do instead of quietly cramming them in.

It also won't send you somewhere just to tick it off. Two areas fifteen minutes apart aren't two destinations, and the planner treats them as one — it would rather give you three genuinely different places than five that blur together.

Quiet actually means quiet

If you ask for quiet, the planner checks each villa against the things that actually keep people awake — beach clubs, main strips, nightlife streets — and how far away they are. A villa 400m from a beach club does not score the same as one 1.5km away, and neither of them will be offered to you as quiet.

This is measured, not a label a host applied to themselves.

Adjusting the plan

Nothing is fixed. You can:

  • Lock a villa or a stop you like, and re-plan the rest around it
  • Change the nights on any leg — the following dates shift to match
  • Remove a stop, and the nights are redistributed
  • Swap the villa at any stop for another in the same area

Locked stops keep their dates. Everything else re-lays around them.

Sending it to the owners

When you're happy, your dates go to each villa's owner directly — one message per villa, with your dates and party size.

Each owner replies to you themselves. Bukavilla doesn't take payment, doesn't hold a deposit, and doesn't confirm anything on an owner's behalf, so a plan is a set of enquiries rather than a booking until each owner confirms.

That also means stops can come back differently — one owner may be full for your dates while the others are free. Adjust that leg and send it again.

What it can't do

  • Book anything for you. Every stay is confirmed by its owner.
  • Guarantee availability at the moment you plan. Calendars move, and an owner's answer is the real one.
  • Plan outside Bali — see above.
  • Arrange transfers between stops. It routes to keep driving down, but getting between villas is yours to arrange. Many owners will help if you ask.
